About the Press

OM Editorial is based in Manabí, Ecuador. Its main objective is to promote the dissemination of knowledge through the publication of original research developed using rigorous and controlled methods. All books are presented in digital format, with completely free access, and undergo an anonymous peer review process using the double-blind peer review method.

The publisher offers a multidisciplinary space to promote the advancement of knowledge in multiple areas on a continuous basis. The disciplines covered include Education, Social Sciences, Humanities, Economics, Natural Sciences, Information and Communication Technologies (ICT), Engineering, Agriculture, Health, and Well-being, among others, ensuring diverse and comprehensive coverage in its field of action.

Objective and Scope: Based on a multidisciplinary scientific approach, OM Editorial is dedicated to publishing academic and scientific research that stands out for its methodological rigor. The publisher welcomes contributions from both national and international authors interested in offering innovative and relevant solutions to contemporary challenges from their various areas of expertise.

Open Access Policy: The Publisher promotes an open access policy that ensures that all of its content is fully available without economic barriers or restrictions for users or institutions. This means that anyone can consult, download, share, copy, print, link to, or use the published books for legitimate purposes, without the need to request additional permissions from the publisher or authors. This policy encourages the free circulation of knowledge and supports its responsible use in various academic and professional contexts.

Self-archiving conditions: Authors are free to store and share the final version of their books (either the post-print or the PDF provided by the publisher) in institutional or thematic repositories or on their personal platforms, provided that the purpose of use is strictly non-commercial.

Fees or Payments: OM Editorial DOES NOT CHARGE ANY FEES FOR THE SUBMISSION, REVIEW, OR PUBLICATION OF MANUSCRIPTS, THUS ENSURING THAT THE ENTIRE PUBLISHING PROCESS IS COMPLETELY FREE OF CHARGE FOR AUTHORS, PROMOTING ACCESSIBILITY AND EQUALITY IN SCIENTIFIC DISSEMINATION.

Creative Commons License: All books published by the Publisher are licensed under the Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International License (CC BY-NC 4.0), which allows users to share and adapt the content provided that it is not for commercial purposes and proper attribution is given.

Target audience: The publisher caters to a diverse audience, including students, professionals, academics, researchers, and anyone interested in the scientific field, both locally and internationally.

Publication dates: The publisher publishes continuously throughout the year.

Categories of accepted manuscripts: Contributions are accepted in the following formats: Publication of academic and scientific books; Editing of chapters for collective books; Preparation of reports and proceedings of scientific conferences.

Digital preservation policies

OM Editorial uses the Open Monograph Press (OMP) system to ensure the archiving and digital preservation of all its content. Each published book receives a DOI (Digital Object Identifier) managed by Crossref, which ensures unique and persistent identification, avoiding location problems due to changes in URLs or other factors.

OM Editorial is also complete and open access in various databases, which guarantees identification and avoids location problems due to URL changes or similar issues. Finally, the publisher releases an HTML and PDF version of each book, allowing for exportation, whether they currently exist or may appear in the future.

Interoperability

OM Editorial has enabled all available interaction options, such as:

OAI-PMH - OPEN AIRE-DRIVER -TINYMCE - DUBLIN CORE INDEXING MODULE, among others, allowing content to be collected by other content distribution systems.

All OM Editorial books allow interoperability to be collected by other distribution systems, such as digital repositories and/or harvesters. The OAI-PMH (Open Archive Initiative-Protocol for Metadata Harvesting) interoperability protocol is specially incorporated with the option of obtaining different formats for metadata.
