La transformación digital está modificando la gestión de la seguridad y salud en el trabajo al ampliar la capacidad de identificar peligros, integrar información y anticipar escenarios de riesgo. Este libro analiza las posibilidades de la inteligencia artificial, el Big Data, los sensores, los dispositivos portátiles, la visualización de datos, la realidad virtual y los gemelos digitales como herramientas de apoyo para una prevención más proactiva. Su planteamiento central sostiene que la eficacia de estas tecnologías no depende únicamente de su precisión o capacidad de procesamiento, sino de la calidad de los datos, su adaptación al contexto laboral y su incorporación a procesos organizacionales capaces de convertir las alertas en acciones preventivas. La obra también examina la participación de los trabajadores, la madurez digital, la usabilidad, la accesibilidad y la coordinación entre las áreas responsables de responder ante los peligros detectados. Asimismo, aborda los sesgos algorítmicos, la explicabilidad, la privacidad de los datos personales y biométricos, la ciberseguridad y la asignación de responsabilidades. Se concluye que la innovación tecnológica debe conservar una orientación humana, ética e inclusiva, fortalecer la prevención primaria y someterse a supervisión profesional. La transformación digital aporta valor cuando contribuye a reducir exposiciones, mejorar las condiciones de trabajo y proteger la salud y la dignidad de las personas.
